Children's Physiotherapy - Neurological and Developmental Conditions
At Select Physio we can help babies from birth and can assess and treat children throughout their childhood.
Sam Powles is a specialist children’s physiotherapist with an additional qualification in advanced clinical practice. She has over 15 years of clinical experience in paediatrics having worked at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, in special schools, child development centres and in the community.
As part of your assessment Sam will take a thorough history about your child’s difficulties and your worries. She will assess your child in a relaxed and playful session, and work with you to create a treatment plan. As part of the assessment, Sam will provide a thorough report to share with you, your GP and health visitor/school nurse, and any other professionals that might be involved.
To book an appointment with Sam, please call us on 01905 381415.
We understand that being a parent comes with lots of worries, and it can be difficult to navigate the health care system. We can help by assessing your child and answering some of those questions you may have.
- Is your baby moving in a way that worries you?
- Is your baby not doing what you would expect for their age?
- Are you worried that your baby has a preferred side?
- Is your child struggling to physically keep up with their friends?
- Are they tripping or falling more than you would expect?

Recent Testimonial
“Following decades of assisted reproductive treatment, our toddler represents an exceptionally precious and long awaited outcome. The paediatric physiotherapy care provided demonstrated an outstanding level of clinical expertise, sensitivity, and professional judgement throughout. Our child was managed with remarkable gentleness, patience, and confidence, ensuring both physical safety and emotional reassurance at all times. Clinical assessments were thorough, evidence based, and clearly explained, with interventions carefully tailored to our child’s individual developmental needs.
Sam demonstrated an exceptional understanding of the complexity and significance of caring for a child conceived after prolonged infertility treatment. This was reflected in the consistently compassionate, respectful, and highly skilled approach to care. An exemplary standard of paediatric physiotherapy practice. We are profoundly grateful and would recommend without reservation. Our child was completely at ease, relaxed and calm during their time with Sam, which further reassured us.”
